ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) and United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) have collaborated to develop a Roadmap (ASEAN RE-Gender Roadmap) to chart a pathway to incorporate gender-responsive policy in renewable energy development in ASEAN towards an inclusive and productive policy while ensuring environmental sustainability of energy sector.

This activity is part of the implementation stated in the 39th ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting (39th AMEM) through the Joint Ministerial Statement stated: "….called for concrete actions to develop robust policies and measures, and to strengthen national, bilateral and multilateral energy programmes and projects that enhance energy resilience and improve energy security, in all of its aspects in the region, which form the foundation of an inclusive and just energy transition, in achieving access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all", which endorse energy transition agenda should be inclusive and support projects that goes beyond the energy sector (AMEM 2021).

This event serves as the ceremonial launch of the ASEAN RE-Gender Roadmap and also to promote the energy and gender nexus in ASEAN.
